Accessibility Testing Services
QACraft's accessibility testing services make your product WCAG 2.2, ADA and EAA compliant — usable for everyone, and protected from the compliance and legal risk of an inaccessible product.
what it is
What Is Accessibility Testing?
Accessibility testing verifies that your product can be used by everyone — including the roughly one in five people who live with a disability. That means people who navigate by keyboard, listen with a screen reader, rely on captions, or need high contrast and large text. It checks your product against the recognised standard — WCAG 2.2 — and, crucially, confirms the real experience works with the assistive technology people actually use.
There are two reasons this matters, and both are real. The right thing: an inaccessible product silently turns away customers who want to use it. The legal risk: ADA-based accessibility lawsuits number in the thousands every year, and the EU Accessibility Act has been in force since June 2025 — making accessibility a compliance requirement, not a nice-to-have.
QACraft's accessibility testing services cover both: WCAG 2.2 conformance audits, ADA/Section 508 and EAA compliance, and hands-on screen-reader, keyboard and contrast testing. This is a compliance-driven discipline within our functional testing family.
our services
Our Accessibility Testing Services
We combine automated scanning, manual WCAG auditing and real assistive-technology testing — because compliance is about the actual experience, not a scan score. Most engagements combine several of the services below.
A full audit against WCAG 2.2 levels A and AA, with every issue mapped to its specific success criterion and conformance level.
Testing against the US legal frameworks — ADA Title II/III expectations and Section 508 for federal — that reference WCAG.
Conformance with the EAA and EN 301 549 for products and services sold in the EU, in force since June 2025.
Hands-on testing with NVDA, JAWS and VoiceOver — verifying the real experience, not just automated output.
Keyboard-only navigation, logical focus order, visible focus, and colour-contrast checks against WCAG ratios.
Prioritised fixes for every violation, re-testing, and a VPAT/accessibility conformance report for procurement when you need one.
Flexible engagement models
A fixed-scope WCAG 2.2 audit of your product with a prioritised, fix-ready report — ideal before a launch or compliance deadline.
The audit plus hands-on guidance and re-testing through remediation until you reach your target conformance level.
Ongoing accessibility checks built into your release process, so new features ship accessible instead of being retrofitted.
tools & frameworks
Tools & Frameworks We Use
Tool choice is decided in Phase 1, but the rule holds: tools catch the obvious, humans and assistive tech catch the rest. Accessibility work spans scanners, real assistive technology and contrast analysis:
Industry-standard automated rules engine for catching clear WCAG failures fast.
Visual accessibility evaluation for structure, contrast and ARIA issues.
Automated accessibility scoring integrated into CI and page audits.
The leading Windows screen readers for real assistive-technology testing.
Apple’s built-in screen reader for macOS and iOS experience testing.
Automated accessibility checks wired into CI for regression on every build.
Precise colour-contrast-ratio measurement against WCAG thresholds.
Manual keyboard-only navigation and focus-order verification.
why automate
Why Accessibility Testing Matters
An inaccessible product is two problems at once: it excludes real customers, and it carries real legal exposure. Accessibility testing solves both — and tends to improve the experience for everyone. Here is what it changes:
People with disabilities — and everyone using a phone in the sun or a keyboard by preference — get a product that works for them.
Conformance with WCAG, ADA and the EAA protects you from accessibility lawsuits and regulatory exposure.
Around one in five people have a disability — accessibility is a large, often-ignored segment of your market.
Accessible structure — semantic HTML, alt text, clear focus — improves usability for all users and helps search engines too.
An accessible product signals quality and inclusion; a public accessibility failure does the opposite.
Building accessibility into your process keeps you ahead of tightening regulations instead of scrambling at each deadline.
our process
Our Accessibility Testing Process
Every engagement follows the same disciplined path — and produces a concrete artifact at the end of each phase, so you always know exactly what you are getting.
Automated + Manual Audit
We scan every page with automated tools to catch the obvious issues, then audit manually against WCAG 2.2 — because scanners catch only part of what matters.
→ artifact: WCAG conformance audit with severitiesAssistive Technology Testing
We test the real experience with screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver), keyboard-only navigation, and zoom/contrast settings — how disabled users actually use your product.
→ artifact: assistive-tech findings + recordingsReport & Prioritise
We deliver a clear report: every violation mapped to its WCAG criterion and conformance level, ranked by user impact and legal risk, with concrete fixes.
→ artifact: prioritised violation report (+ VPAT if needed)Remediate & Re-verify
We guide remediation, re-test the fixes, and help bake accessibility into your process so new features ship accessible — not retrofitted later.
→ artifact: re-tested conformance + prevention guidanceSee an accessibility audit

automate it
Automated & Manual Accessibility Testing
Automated tooling is a real part of accessibility — but only a part. We run automated scanners (axe-core, Lighthouse, Pa11y) in CI to catch the clear, repeatable failures on every build, and AI helps cluster and prioritise findings.
The catch is honesty about limits: scanners reliably catch only a fraction of WCAG issues, and they cannot judge whether alt text is meaningful or a screen-reader flow makes sense. So automation handles the obvious, and a QA engineer with real assistive technology handles the rest — which is where most genuine accessibility problems actually live.
industries
Industries We Serve
We provide accessibility testing for teams across industries where exclusion is both a compliance risk and a real barrier to people who need the service.

straight answers
Frequently Asked Questions
What is accessibility testing?
Accessibility testing verifies that your website or app can be used by people with disabilities — including those who rely on screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, captions, or high-contrast and zoom settings. It checks your product against recognised standards like WCAG 2.2 and confirms the real experience works with assistive technology.
Which standards do you test against?
WCAG 2.2 (levels A and AA) as the core standard, plus the legal frameworks that reference it: the ADA and Section 508 in the US, and the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and EN 301 549 in the EU. We map every finding to a specific success criterion and conformance level.
Is accessibility a legal requirement?
Increasingly, yes. ADA-based web accessibility lawsuits run in the thousands each year in the US, and the EU Accessibility Act came into force on 28 June 2025, requiring many digital products and services sold in the EU to be accessible. Beyond the legal risk, an inaccessible product simply excludes customers.
Is accessibility testing automated or manual?
Both — and manual is essential. Automated scanners reliably catch only a portion of WCAG issues (commonly cited around 30–40%); the rest — meaningful alt text, logical focus order, screen-reader experience, sensible labels — require human and assistive-technology testing. We combine the two.
Do you test with real screen readers?
Yes. We test with NVDA and JAWS on Windows and VoiceOver on macOS/iOS, plus keyboard-only navigation and zoom/contrast settings — verifying the actual experience disabled users have, not just what a scanner reports.
Do you provide a VPAT or remediation guidance?
Yes. We deliver a prioritised report with each violation mapped to its WCAG criterion and a concrete fix, can produce a VPAT/accessibility conformance report for procurement, and guide remediation and re-testing until you reach your target conformance level.
